The coronavirus (COVID-19) issues is affecting all of us. We at Explorer are committed to make sure we deliver the experience we have promised at the same time as making sure we take care of the mental and physical health of our community and country. As such the Fall 2020 cohort is totally virtual. This includes the kick-off sessions, group mentoring sessions, 1 on 1 mentoring sessions, office hours and workshops.

REQUIRED VIEWING BY ALL EXPLOER TEAMS

Here are the guidelines and agenda for the first session (your first meeting with your mentor group):

  1. The session will be virtual and conducted using Zoom. If this is the first time you use Zoom, please refer to this document (French version) for instructions on how to join and please login 5 minutes beforehand to make sure you are all set up in time for the meeting.
  2. It is up to you whether you turn your video on or off. The Explorer mentors and facilitators will have their video on.
  3. Session #1 general purpose is:
    • General information on the Explorer program and COVID-19 impact
    • The introduction of the Business Startup Canvas.
    • Team introductions
    • Project introductions
    • Start filling the Business Startup Canvas. See the Lean Canvas tab below.
  4. Bring your budget plans to share with the group. Please update that budget (not the amount, just the breakdown) based on any conditions that have changed (e.g. you were awarded less than what you originally requested or your business situation has changed).  Please use your Explorer gSheet (a template can be found here ).
